Visit Amicalola State Park on December 11, 2010 from 4 PM to 9 PM for their Christmas Open House. You will enjoy choir performances, see many children’s crafts, and you can even vote for your favorite gingerbread house. There will be a fire where you can get warm and cozy and spend a little time visiting with Santa Claus. There is a $5 parking fee for the park. Contact 706-265-1969 for more details and information.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Christmas TreeYou are invited to Dawsonville City Hall on December 2, 2010 at 5:30 PM for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. There will be complimentary hot cocoa and hot cider to warm your insides while you enjoy the evening’s entertainment. Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance and will be available for photos. Children will receive a complimentary photo with Santa.

Santa at the Mall

Santa ClausSanta has arrived at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall! Visit Santa Claus in his North Georgia wonderland  in the food pavilion from November 23 through December 24, 2010. Photos will be available for purchase.

Santa will be home celebrating Thanksgiving with his family on Thursday, November 25 so he will not be available nor will he be available on Mondays.

Make sure to bring your Christmas list with you so you can get some shopping done at all of the great stores in the mall.

Visit Santa at Amicalola Deer Park

Santa ClausOn weekends beginning November 13, 2010 and running through December 19, 2010, bring the children out to Amicalola Deer Park to  ride Santa’s sleighay wagon through the deer park up to Santa’s cabin. Enjoy feeding Santa’s deer while sipping cocoa, eating cookies, and listening to the Christmas carols. You can even get photos with the Big Man himself! Feeling the nip in the air and the excitement on the childrens’ faces is sure to get you and your family in the holiday spirit.

The park is open from 12 Noon to 5 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, under 3 FREE.

Uncle Shucks Pumpkin Patch

PumpkinsUncle Shucks Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze opened on September 4, 2010 for another season of fun! It is open now through November 21, 2010. Find your way through the Corn Maze, enjoy a hayride, or wander through the pumpkin patch to pick out your favorite pumpkins to take home. Evening hayrides are great fun as the wagon makes a stop at the campfire where you can gather around the fire, roast some marshmallows, and sing campfire songs.

Visit Uncle Shucks on Friday or Saturday nights in October for the Haunted Maze experience. Challenge yourself to find your way through the corn maze after dark with only the light of the moon to guide you. No flashlights are allowed. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Park hours are:

September and November
Friday – 4 PM to 10 PM
Saturday – 10 AM to 10 PM
Sunday – 10 AM to 6 PM
October
Sunday through Thursday – 10 AM to 6 PM
Friday and Saturday – 10 AM to 10 PM
The Haunted Maze is Friday and Saturday nights only. It begins at dusk and the last ticket is sold no later than 10 PM.
