DogLeg Charity Golf Tournament

GolfThis charity golf tournament is for the dogs…and cats! Register to play in the 9th annual DogLeg Charity Golf Tournament at the Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville, Georgia on May 23, 2011. All proceeds will benefit the Dawson County Humane Society.

The tournament format is 4 member amateur teams and 4 man best scramble. Prizes will be awarded to the first and second teams, gross and net. Other contests will be taking place on tournament day such as: a 50/50 putting contest, hole in one, longest drive, and closest to the pin. The ladies’ maximum handicap is 30 and the men’s maximum handicap is 25.

The day will begin with registration and lunch provided by Chic-fil-A from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Tournament instructions will be given at 12:45 PM. Shotgun start at 1 PM. Dinner, awards, and raffles will start after the tournament.

Wings of Flight

CardinalLearn all about many of the winged creatures in nature and ways to attract them to your own backyard in the Wings of Flight at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville, Georgia on May 14 – 15, 2011 from 10 AM to 5 PM. These programs share the histories of birds, butterflies, and bats and give you tips on how to attract them. Enjoy a day at the park, maybe take a hike to see the waterfalls, and get some education too!
